LA MANZANILLA - RESTAURANTS
The beach is lined with many casual, mostly daytime, restaurants that are all good and have very similar menus. You can stroll up to one, grab a table, order some food and/or drinks and use it as your "spot" for your day at the beach. You will also find in town many fine foreign and Mexican owned restaurants offering a huge variety of cuisines:
Girasol Changed ownership. Located at the South-west corner of the main plaza (jardin). Please keep checking for updated info.
Jolanda's Asian and European cuisine. Located by the main road on the beach. Jolanda and her husband are from Holland and specialize in European/Asian dishes that are excellent. Open Thursday - Monday 9 AM - 10 PM. Check the Event announcements for their Wednesday evening Ricetable events and Dancing evenings with live-music. Reservations at: 351 5449
Quetzal Third level restaurant on the main street in center of town next to Taco's Mr. Chop-Chop. Good view's of the ocean and bay. French/Mexican cuisine. It's known for it's crepes and chillie rellenos. Open for breakfast and dinner during high-season.
Palapa Joe's On the east side of main street about a block north of town center. Nice airy street level setting. Serving pizza, hamburgers, fresh seafood and casual mexican selections. Open Tuesday - Saturday 12 PM - 10 PM. Reservations at: 351 5348. Ask for their Open-mic-nights or check the Event announcements. !
Lora Loka's Right in the center of town where the "pasillo" connects the main street to the beach. Great spot for Mexican breakfasts and watching the sunset. In the evening she offers one or two special dishes that usually change daily.
Artis Gallery/Lounge Bar are offering Sushi-evenings by announcement .
Pepe's Pizza On the east side of main street at the triangle. They offer Pizza and other Mexican dishes.
Martin's Just past the bridge South of the main plaza. Upstairs dining with nice view of the Tenacatita Bay. Open for breakfast (good omelets) and for dinner (great steaks and other upscale menu items). Open every day except Tuesday. They also sell coffee beans from a coop in the mountains. Reservations at 351 5106. Mondays during high-season once per month live-musik with the Blond Gypsies: Latcho & Andrea. Check the announcement for concerts in La Manzanilla.
Cafe Las Flores Delicious food and great variety. On the main street walking from the triangle toward the Jardin.
Tacos Mr. Chop-Chop Right on the main street (can't be missed when open) and next to Quetzal is the local thriving taco stand. Excellent tacos on handmade tortillas and great salsas. Open most evenings around 8 PM. Not to be missed!
Mi Casita Walking from the beach side of the triangle toward the main plaza. A variety of Mexican lunches.
There are also a number of Mexican dinner eateries (cenadurais) and street vendors that pop up at irregular intervals throughout town, especially around the Jardin. Give 'em a try!
